OPEN AND JACKPOT SHOW HEALTH
REGULATIONS
It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to obtain and possess health certificates and documentation required by both the state of origin and the state of Pennsylvania. Goats showing visible signs of illness, disease or external parasites will be removed and disqualified at the sole discretion of the show officials. OPEN AND JACKPOT SHOW
REFUNDS
No refunds will be made after the entry deadline. No refund will be granted for disqualified entries or entries scratched after the entry deadline. OPEN SHOW
ELIGIBILITY
Animals must be registered in a registered herdbook: American Boer Goat Association, International Boer Goat Association, National Boer Goat Association, USBGA or Canadian Boer Goat Association. OPEN SHOW ENNOBLED HERD BOOK
POINTS
Only goats entered with the registration number and presenting their Registry Certificate of Registration will be eligible to earn points for their actual placing in the show as described in the applicable association rules. OPEN SHOW PROOF OF
REGISTRATION
An original registration certificate is required, though a copy of a Registration Application stamped with the date received by one of the listed associations, can be accepted for kids qualified for classes for goats less than 3 months of age. Proof of ownership shall be the name on the registration document. Persons showing animals whose registration certificates have signed transfers that have not been processed by the applicable registry association, must show those animals as agent for the owner as shown on the association records. OF INTEREST
An exhibitor shall not present an animal to be shown under a judge from whom it was purchased or possession taken within 90 days of show. OPEN AND JACKPOT SHOW
DISQUALIFICATIONS
1. An exhibitor shall not knowingly show an animal that does not meet eligibility requirements 2. Any goat showing any pronounced defect or abnormality will be barred from the show. Artificial coloring will be a disqualification. (Open Show) Illegible tattoos or tattoos that are inconsistent with the goat’s registration papers will result in disqualification. (Open Show) Judge can check tattoos on animals that are placed up to fifth place. (Open Show) Exhibitors of animals with microchips as permanent identification are required to provide a microchip reader for verification of animal identity. 3. (Open Show) Any doe over 24 months of age that has not kidded and cannot prove a current pregnancy should not be entered into the show and is subject to disqualification. OPEN AND JACKPOT SHOW RING
ETIQUETTE
1. (Open Show) No offspring allowed in the ring while showing the dam - only the animal entered in that class may be in the ring. 2. No heelers will be allowed in the ring. Emergency assistance may be provided to render health aid and/or remove exhibitors that are in serious trouble with their entry. |
