PA LABOR DAY BOER GOAT DOUBLE-HEADER RULES

SEPTEMBER 4, 2010; 10 am


(In addition to the following rules, ABGA rules apply for open ABGA shows)

Entry forms: Your entry will include entry in same class, same goat, both shows. Pens are limited, so be sure to enclose correct fees for tack and animal pens. Entries must be postmarked by August 21, 2010 or late entry fees will apply.

NO REFUNDS; substitutions are allowed at no extra fee. No substitutions after 8:00 AM day of show; scratches only.

Check-in: Animals can unload from 12 pm – 9 pm on Friday, September 3, 2010. NO ANIMALS CAN BE ON FAIRGROUNDS BEFORE 12:00 PM Friday, September 3, 2010.

Registration will be open between 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, September 3, 2010, and 7:00 am – 9:00 am Saturday.

Registrations: Original ABGA, IBGA or CBGA registration papers are required to check in, except as noted in ABGA rules. It is the owner’s responsibility for ear tattoos to match registration papers. Tattoos will be checked on first and second place and any additional point winners at the conclusion of each class.

Health Requirements: ALL ANIMALS MUST BE HEALTHY. No visible signs of abscesses or other contagious diseases (pinkeye, soremouth, ringworm, etc.) will be allowed. All animals must have current health papers within 30 days (interstate for those outside PA). All show goats must have registration papers/numbers; companion goats, market lambs and goats must have scrapies tags.
NOTE: We are adhering to USDSA regulations that no doe who has kidded within one month of the show date will be entered in the show, or allowed at the show. Also, no doe within one month of kidding is to be at the show. This will be enforced.
Animals will be checked before entering barn area. Do not unload before being checked.

Sportsmanship: Any person or family not acting in an honorable manner will be required to leave immediately, and will not be allowed to return for the remainder of the show.

Shavings: Shavings are provided in pens and will be included with you pen fee. Additional bags will be available for $6.00 per bag. Quantities will be limited.

All animals are encouraged to be shown from pens, as there is no outside loud speaker to let you know when your classes are on stand-by.

Miscellaneous:
No animals are allowed to run free on the fairgrounds; dogs must have current vaccinations / Rabies tag and be leashed. Exhibitors are responsible for safety and care of their goats.

Exhibitors and their families release the PA Meat Goat Producers Association, PA Boer Goat Double-Header committee members and the Gratz Fairgrounds Association from any and all responsibility for loss or damages or accidents.

No Smoking in the barns, buildings or show arena.

Youth Showmanship Additional Rules: (no entry fee)
Showmanship Classes are for youth owners 19 years of age and under as of January 1, 2010.
Showmanship classes will be divided into Junior and Senior divisions.
class SS: Senior youth showmanship, 12 to under 19 years old; youth must have owned or leased, raised, & trained the entry.
class SJ: Junior youth showmanship, under 12 years old, youth must have owned or leased, raised, & trained the entry.

In case of a discrepancy, or for rules not adequately covered, the show committee decision will be final.
